Our report about a Boulder vigil for an elk shot by a police officer now on administrative leave got our readers typing.

Among the memorable responses — a note from a person who wishes the average killing of a person received as much attention.

Matt Baca writes:

Colorado Police officers routinely kill people with little to no reporting by the various Colorado news affiliates, but kill an animal, dog or elk, and all the bleeding hearts come out of the woodwork. If we had half the concern for loss of HUMAN life as we do animal life in this world we’d be 50% less shitty.
