Reader: Prostitution will continue to thrive due to demographics — among other reasons

Our recent prostitution price guide, from the mind and pen of investigative cartoonist Kenny Be, scored plenty of laughs, as well as a more serious comment from someone attempting to explain why the world’s oldest profession isn’t about to disappear. Here’s his explanation.

Bronwyn Wyatt writes:

The birth ratio isn’t equal and there are more men than women. Excluding gay men and women there is still a surplus of men and hence the demand for services such as prostitution. Added to this the status requirements to achieve women through conventional methods, there is a large demographic who will only be able to fulfil urges by paying for sex.

So really, I would shoot that high horse because it doesn’t have a leg to stand on.
