At this writing, a memorial service for Kayleah Wilson, who was twelve at the time of her death, is taking place in Greeley. But earlier today, the focus was on a person whose involvement in the case was little known by the general public until after her body was discovered.

Robert Laurencio Montoya appeared in Weld County court this morning, clad in an orange prison jumpsuit. He stands accused of sexual assault, for allegedly having maintained a sexual relationship with the pre-teen girl beginning last October. He’s next court date is June 15.

This charge is certainly lurid — but a gallery of Kayleah’s family photos, hosted by Stoddard Funeral Home, is anything but. To view them, click here.
