Last month, the Sleeper house — the Colorado mountain home made famous by Woody Allen’s 1973 film Sleeper — sold at auction for the bargain basement price of $1.53 million. And it could well be on the market again soon, according to TopTenRealEstateDeals.com, a website that places the Sleeper house among the country’s top ten real estate deals this week. Check out the site’s blurb and then page through a photo gallery of the iconic structure from an album by photographer Patrick Young.

From TopTenRealEstateDeals.com:

10. The “Sleeper” house sold!

But it’s likely to sell again if the current buyer, John Dilday, brings his plan to fruition. Purchased for only a dollar over the minimum bid, the foreclosed upon previous owner insists he also wants it back. Aside from Woody Allen’s 1973 movie being made here and the breathtaking views, trying to picture actually living in it is a bit of a reach. It tends to give off a rather cold feeling with all the concrete and Jetson furnishings. Because it’s on the historical list, we don’t know if anything can be changed on the interior, but according to stock photos, you won’t find anything warm and fuzzy here! Did you ever really like plastic furniture that looked like a hand? We’re going to keep an eye on this place to see what happens next. If you’re one enthralled by everything 70’s, love orange and odd plastic shapes, by all means give John a call and make this historic structure yours!
