You’ve got to hand it to Pat McCullough of Celtic Events: A more honest man never lived. The kindly and adorable fella with the killer brogue is the first to admit that he “took it in the shorts last July when an unusual three-day rain soaked everyone who were not wearing their ‘wellies'” at the Colorado Irish Festival. But the big man’s apparently got big friends. To help McCullough dig out, Irish folk-rockers the Saw Doctors are flying in for a benefit show at 8 p.m. on October 17 at the Bluebird Theater. And though there’s a beneficent motive for going to see this band, trust me, it’s also a matter of taste.
