Don’t you go around saying there’s never anything new happening in town. You can get a shock of the new tonight, in fact, when Paragon Theatre hosts an edition of The Trench, the company’s ongoing new play reading series, which offers a first look at works by locals. A talented young cast, including Curtiss Johns, Michaela Cullen, Hannah Marie and Steve Burge, will run through Mormania, a play by Front Range Community College instructor and playwright David Ewald, tonight at 7 p.m. at the Crossroads Theater, 2590 Washington Street in Five Points. It portrays a long weekend of push-and-pull dynamics between two childhood friends who are now roommates at a religious university. After the reading, the audience is invited to hang out for a talkback and refreshments.

The price tag for all this is absolutely free, although you might be called upon for an opinion or two. Get details at www.paragontheatre.org or call 303-300-2210.
