Update: Earlier today, we told you about a late-night shooting at a residence near the intersection of East Colfax and Verbena during which the victim was critically injured.

Now, the Denver Police Department has tweeted that the individual has been pronounced dead. As a result, the case is now being investigated as a homicide. Continue for our previous coverage, including additional photos.

Original post, 5:17 a.m.: Prior to 11 p.m. last night, violence erupted at a home on the 1500 block of Verbena Street, just north of Colfax.

As 7News notes, the intersection in question is on East Colfax not far from Yosemite.

No information about the victim, the suspect or suspects or the circumstances has been made available thus far. But there isn’t doubt that this is an unfortunate way to end a long holiday weekend.
