The last time the House judiciary committee considered HB 1284, which would regulate medical marijuana from seed to sale in this state, the March 4 hearing went on for ten hours, and over 800 people signed up to testify.
Today, when the committee again takes up HB 1284, there will be no public testimony. But there’s still plenty to say about the bill, which keeps morphing in ways various parties see in different ways. According to the Cannabis Therapy Institute’s interpretation, for instance, the latest version would eliminate 80 percent of the state’s dispensaries.
Where there’s smoke, there’s ire. The committee meeting starts at 1:30 p.m. in room 0107 at the State Capitol.
