Local Colorado governments have had enough of fracking and have filed a lawsuit against two of the world's largest corporations: Exxon Mobil and Suncor Energy, the latter of which has a refinery in Commerce City. The lawsuit alleges that the corporations should pay up for the impacts of climate change on their local communities, and they're demanding to have their case heard in front of a jury.
The changes would require that developers that want to build above a certain height in the area pay five times the city's affordable housing fee per square footage, build a certain number of affordable housing units if it's a residential building, or implement in any commercial development services that go toward the community, like daycare or space for artists.

Mere months after getting a tattoo on the left side of his chest that read, "Save Your Heart for Someone Who Leaves You Breathless," Corey Clemons's heart stopped. In the immediate aftermath of his fatal shooting in Aurora two years ago, few details were released, and that remained the case even after Lloyd Rickey Henderson was arrested and charged with the crime days later. But now, in the wake of Henderson's conviction and sentencing, we know that the gunman felled Clemons in front of his mother after using a bullet to intervene in a clash between her son and her live-in boyfriend that both parties would have otherwise survived.
In July 2015, Matthew Burry, a sex offender who spent more than a decade in prison, was arrested and charged with child abuse resulting in death after the passing of his four-and-a-half-month-old son, Dominic. But an Adams County jury has now found Burry not guilty of the crime after his legal team presented evidence that the child actually died as a result of meningitis that had afflicted him since birth.

... While the film does insist on its own irreverence a bit too much at the outset — it opens with a group of birds inspirationally singing, “You’re only as small as your dreams,” before they get abruptly knocked out of the sky — it offers plenty of lively fun once it settles down ...
Desi Cortez appeared regularly on Denver talk-radio stations from the first half of the 1990s to 2004. Since then, he's made intermittent attempts to get back on the airwaves, and he feels strongly that he hasn't gotten another chance for two reasons: his progressive views and the color of his skin.
So many potential jurors were challenged that the city's case against the church ended in a mistrial on February 28.
The owners of Bandit say that the dog is a boxer mix. But as we've reported, officials in Aurora believe he's a type of pit bull, a breed banned in the community for a decade-plus, and they've spent more than a year trying to put him to death over a January 2017 biting incident. Today, March 2, they'll succeed. He's scheduled to be euthanized at the Aurora animal shelter this morning.
