Lynn Bartels’s political reporting is a highlight of the Denver Post, in part because of the lively wit she often brings to her articles. And this quality is in even greater abundance on her Twitter feed, where she makes the state legislature seem like a fun and interesting place to be — or she did until making us imagine what hot-tempered Representative David Balmer is wearing under his pants on St. Patrick’s Day.
Here’s the tweet in question:
I just pinched Rep. David Balmer for not wearing green. My rule is thongs don’t count. #colegless than a minute ago via txtlynnbartelslynn_bartels
And here are some other examples of her tweeting today:
Lots of green here today at the Capitol. Unfortunately for lawmakers it’s not cash. #COLEGless than a minute ago via weblynnbartelslynn_bartels
Rep. JPaul Brown: I believe in local control, but sometimes locals get out of control. During debate on trash bill. #COLEGless than a minute ago via weblynnbartelslynn_bartels
Rep. Robert Ramirez comes from a line of Irish Protestants. ‘I’m supposed to be wearing orange, but I don’t want to be divisive .’ #COLEGless than a minute ago via TweetDecklynnbartelslynn_bartels
Color us amused, Ms. Bartels. But not by Balmer’s thong.
